06 Feb New SEAT Ibiza to be released at Geneva Motor Show
It has been confirmed that the new SEAT Ibiza is scheduled to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show on March 17th. To mark this auspicious occasion, we thought we would take a trip down memory lane and look at the stunning legacy of one of our favourite modern cars!
The Ibiza has sold a massive 5.4 million cars worldwide. The car was originally designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who was also crowned ‘Car Designer of the Century’ in 1999. SEAT produces an astonishing 700 cars each day, with 80% of all vehicles exported to more than 75 countries.
As time has gone on, the Ibiza has become significantly more fuel efficient, with the MK4 consuming less than half the fuel of the MK1. The MK4 also travels nearly 12km during its production!
Details about the new Ibiza are understandably vague, however we do know that it will come in its traditional 5-door hatchback form only. It is 87mm wider, 2mm shorter and 1mm lower than its predecessor. It will also apparently have ‘much improved interior roominess,’ with a larger boot capacity.
We can only wait with bated breath to see what SEAT pulls out of the bag at this year’s Geneva Motor Show!
